Ekadashi 11th Lunar Cycle Practice at sat Nam Yoga Chicago
Ekadashi is a cosmic reminder to stop trying so hard. A sacred pause for purification and harmony, it’s been honored across traditions as a time for meditation, fasting, and letting the mind loosen its grip—an opportunity to release old karmic habits and remember a wider view.
Symbolized by the rising of Kundalini, Ekadashi points to the shift from unconscious routine into conscious presence. The material and spiritual worlds seem to lean a little closer on this day, making inner practice especially effective.
Our teachers share kriyas for glandular balance every 11th day, gently coaxing the body back into rhythm. As balance returns all levels of being — physical, astral, and spiritual — are uplifted and renewed. Meditation deepens quite naturally—clarity sharpens, the heart is more peaceful, intuition enhances, and your awareness becomes more available. In this way, the kriya becomes both prayer and practice while quietly opening the door to higher consciousness.
We recommend to fast, or keep it light like eat fruit or juice on these days. Do whatever works for you.
